About Dylan.
Artist, athlete, writer, nerd. Dylan McBride is an interdisciplinary artist, medievalist and aspiring polymath raised in an arts household in the middle of the woods of northern Michigan. As a child she spent perhaps a little too much time reading fantasy novels, asking dangerous questions like "why?" and "what if...?" and volunteering for the arts and social change. Combined with refusing to participate in any normal, acceptable sports like soccer or basketball in favor of fencing épée, it was only inevitable that she spent high school training to be a theatre artist at Interlochen Arts Academy before heading off to Smith College to get her Bachelor's in Medieval Studies. Since then her hodgepodge of a resume includes teaching kids how to repair bikes and sewing costumes for Detroit Opera.
These days when she isn't sewing for the stage, Dylan is most likely to be found working on a watercolor, scratching out a new fairy tale, or wrestling with editing a novel she promises will see the light of day. She enjoys playing D&D, making her own dice, hiking, fencing (the stabby kind) and going on very long expository rants about the wonders of natural building or ranked choice voting.
What is her mission? To incite wonder, inspire awe.
